DCMS have asked us, ordinary country people, to create a Community Support Hub, to help rural communities make official submissions to list their own cultural heritage. This is not a top down thing, Big Brother telling us what to do. It’s a bottom up thing. We are the Practitioners, we are the experts in what we do, we are the communities who stand to lose out.
This is us putting our hands up and saying to Government ‘We exist. We wish to be recognised. We require our country life to be treated with respect’. So this website is not some pressure group or NGO. It is an official DCMS conduit run by volunteers supporting rural communities to become officially listed and recognised.
